We are always excited to share capoeira with other people--whether they are
students visiting from other groups or people who have never played before.
What should you know when coming to train with us the first time?
- Wear comfortable clothes. We train in gold t-shirts and black pants.
You won't need to wear these colors at first, but wear a t-shirt that
you can keep tucked into your pants (no sleeveless tops or shorts). If
you don't have a gold t-shirt, we have them for sale.
- We strive to start class on time. Please be punctual. Anyone arriving
15 minutes or more after the start of class will not be allowed to train.
- No one can do everything on their first day. Don't worry about that--just
come to try and have fun moving your body in a different way, learning
a new kind of music, and opening yourself to this beautiful Afro-Brazilian
art form.
- We meet at the Horizon School Gym, located at 1900 Dekalb Ave., Atlanta,
Georgia.
- Adult classes are $10 or $65 for a full month of classes.
- Children's classes are free, but we will accept donations.
- ICAF Atlanta holds a roda the first Saturday of every month from 10
AM - 2 PM. Regular Adult and Children's Classes are canceled for the roda,
but everyone (adults and kids) are strongly encouraged to come to the
roda.
